Dear Baby

Thank you so much for subscribing to our blog! Infertility can be a very lonely and isolating journey. However, we believe that community is an essential part of our faith and our humanity, so we decided to start this blog to "go public" with our struggles. It was a big step for us, and we are so thankful for the support you've shown us and that you've decided to join us in this journey. We truly cannot do it alone. Our prayer is that God will use our story to impact others who are searching for hope in the midst of infertility. Below is a letter I wrote to our baby on the day we first met with the adoption agency.

November 3, 2015

Dear Baby,

Hello for the first time on paper, but not the first time in my heart! Your Daddy and I just decided that we are going to move forward with Adoption last week, and today we already have an appointment with our Adoption friends. It seems like it is happening so fast, but then again like we’ve already been waiting a very long time for this day. I know that our Father God was planning this day long before any of us were born, and that it is happening in His perfect timing so that you can be in our family.

It has been a long road to get here. You see, we thought that Father God would bring children into our family in the usual way, by putting Baby in Mommy’s belly and letting Baby grow there until big enough to be held in our arms. But, you see, God had an extra special plan for our family. He decided to let you grow in your Birth Mommy’s belly instead! Even though we don’t know you yet, we are so thankful that she is providing a safe place for you until you can come home with us. Maybe someday you will get to watch Mommy’s belly get really big as a little Brother or Sister grows in there for you! But for now, we will keep praying for you while you are in your Birth Mommy’s belly.

This Love we have for you and your Birth Family has been given to us by Father God, who loved all of us first. This Love is just beginning to come to the surface and grow into something beautiful (just like you are doing inside of Birth Mommy!). This Love… is going to change everything.
