4 Months and Happy MLK Jr. Day!

I'm several days late on her birthday post... but that's kind of how this past month has been going for us! We had a wonderful, busy holiday season, enjoying our precious gift, Lydia Jubilee. Then Lydia came down with a cold, I went back to work, and David's sweet Grandpa Bob passed away all in the same week. Thankfully, Lydia recovered quickly. We were able to spend time with family to grieve for Grandpa and remember his life. And I got today off for MLK Jr. day! I am so thankful that I'm able to work part-time so that I can spend most of my time with Lydia.

She had her 4 month well-check and vaccines today. She is 13 lbs 7 oz, holding steady in the 31st percentile. Her height, however, jumped to the 48th percentile at 24.5 inches, and her head jumped up to the 74th percentile!

Lydia LOVES:

- standing (with our help to balance, of course)

- practicing rolling over with our help

- talking/singing/squealing

- smiling (but NOT at the camera)

- holding on to and playing with/sucking on her toys

- examining her hands, our faces, Mommy's hair, new rooms/places/people

- snuggling and kisses

- playing with Mommy & Daddy

We want to wish all of you a happy Martin Luther King Jr. day today! We are so very thankful for the work that he (and many others, including John Lewis and Rosa Parks) did to improve the civil rights of Americans. We are all benefiting from their sacrifices. If you are still looking for a way to observe the holiday, I'd highly recommend this podcast: https://www.raanetwork.org/pass-mic-mlks-legacy-dr-mika-edmondson/.
